The rain will come down heavy at times into Wednesday evening west of the Cascades, but especially for the coastal areas, Illinois Valley and western Siskiyou County. Strong and gusty winds will be possible for the Coast into Wednesday. This also includes the Shasta Valley and parts of the Rogue Valley from around Medford to Ashland and east of the Cascades, especially over higher terrain. The wind south/southeast winds will generally range from around 10 to 40mph, but gusts to 65 mph will be possible mainly for the Coast and around Weed, California/Shasta Valley. Heavy snow will be possible over the Siskiyou & Cascade mountains during this time periods as well, especially above 5000 to 6000 feet, but snow levels will start to fall on Wednesday into Wednesday night. Areas around Mount Shasta City, CA & McCloud, CA may see rain or a mix of rain and snow turn to a period of heavy wet snow Wednesday into Wednesday evening where several inches to over a foot of snow will be possible. Over a foot will be likely above 4000 to 4500 feet. Precipitation becomes more showery later Wednesday night. Looks like we have another storm for Thursday night into Friday for more rain and snow.
