Salem, Ore. – A settlement between Oracle and the state of Oregon has been reached. According to a press release from Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum, the settlement is valued at more than $100 million. It includes cash payments to Oregon as well as a six-year license agreement for Oracle products and services.
Attorney General Rosenblum said the license agreement can potentially save the state hundreds of millions of dollars and provide state government with substantial IT upgrades at enormous savings.
“Today’s settlement agreement ends years of turmoil and taxpayer expense related to a troubled health exchange program I dissolved in March 2015,” Governor Kate Brown said. “Since the demise of Cover Oregon, we have helped nearly 98 percent of Oregon children and 94 percent of adults obtain health care coverage – now, let’s focus on getting to 100 percent.”
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee released a report in May that shows Oregon State officials misused $305 million of federal funds and improperly coordinated with former Gov. John Kitzhaber’s campaign advisers.
