Update: Cave Junction Homicide Investigation

This is the last thing 39-year-old Aaron Lee Clouser ever wrote on Facebook.

Also around the time Rachel Allen would last hear from her friend.

“He was a wonderful man.”

Clouser’s Facebook page tells the story of a man who was struggling to stay sober and find his way in life.

But his life ended late Tuesday night when Oregon State Police say someone killed him.

His body was found in the middle of the west Millie Street in Cave Junction.

“He was in spite of our closeness in age, a father figure to me, and we were pretty close.”

Wednesday police named 60-year-old Michael Clyde McDonald a person of interest in the case.

Troopers say McDonald lived on the same block where a neighbor found Clouser’s body.

“He was striving to have a good life just like any of us.”

McDonald is not a suspect in Clouser’s murder. Troopers arrested him for allegedly violating probation and for being inpossessionof dangerous drugs. Though they’re not saying how Clouser was killed. Allen says she’s devastated he didn’t get to realize his goals.

“There’s going to be a lot of judgments out there and I hope people are able to look past that and to recognize the person he was not the person people are going to portray him to be.”
