Man arrested after menacing three men with a handgun

0923-willie-ray-williams-jrMedford, Ore. – Police say a man wanted for stealing a handgun from a vehicle on Barnett road was arrested two days later in a Medford hotel room.

Medford Police say 30-year-old Willie Ray Williams Jr. was wanted for theft of Ruger LC9 handgun from a vehicle that took place on Tuesday.

According to officer, on Thursday morning Williams allegedly menaced three men with a gun on the corner of Pine Street and Maple Street. The reason for the menacing is unclear.

Police say Williams was located around noon that same day in a Rogue Regency Inn hotel room. Officers were able to negotiate with Williams and he was taken into custody.

Williams was lodged at the Jackson County Jail and charged with felon in possession of a weapon, count, menacing, unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, and two counts of theft.
