Myrtle Creek, Ore. (CNN Newsource) — A small-town Douglas County mayor was arrested as part of an online sex sting.
71-year-old Kenneth Lewis Barrett is the mayor of Winston.
Court documents say Barrett was arrested Sunday when he showed up in the town of Myrtle Creek to have relations with a 14-year-old girl.
That girl was actually a police officer who exchanged Facebook messages with Barrett.
Barrett faces charges of online sexual corruption and unlawful possession of a firearm.
The Winston city manager says Barrett currently remains mayor and doesn’t know his future plans.
