OSP worker pleads guilty to stealing drugs from crime lab

0816 OSP GavelPortland, Ore. — An Oregon State Police lab worker pleaded guilty to stealing drugs from OSP crime labs.

Nika Larsen pleaded guilty in a Portland federal court Monday to stealing more than 700 pills that were being used as evidence in drug investigations.

Jackson County District Attorney Beth Heckert said Larsen worked on many Jackson County cases, but none of that work involved drugs so no cases were affected.

Larsen will be sentenced in December. OSP said in a statement, “We profoundly regret our scientist’s behavior and any adverse impact it has had on our professional partners or the administration of justice. We are redoubling our commitment to delivering the consistently professional service that built our hard-earned reputation for excellence.”
