Portland Police: Man wearing clown mask arrested after shadow boxing toward students

1006-david-dahlmanPortland, Ore. –Police responded to Floyd Light Middle School in Portland around 8:30 Thursday morning after they received a report of a man in a clown mask chasing kids and trying to fight with the school’s assistant principal.

The Portland Police Bureau said the assistant principal reported the suspect was also wearing boxing gloves. He was alarming students by standing outside the school windows and “shadow boxing” toward the students.

Police said the suspect tried to fight with the assistant principal when he was confronted. The assistant principal was not injured. The suspect fled to a nearby mobile home park where he was later found by police in one of the homes and taken into custody without incident.

The suspect, identified by police as 55-year-old David Dahlman, was booked on charges of menacing disorderly conduct.

Officers said Dahlman had walked is grandchildren to the school bus stop wearing the outfit before the incident outside the middle school.
