400 pound Klamath Falls man sets off on a healthy bicycle ride to Medford

eric image 2Klamath Falls, Ore. – A Klamath Falls man who weighs over 400 pounds is off on an 80 mile bicycle ride over the Cascades to Medford.

Eric Hoffman weighs over 430 pounds – which is much less than the 540 pounds he weighed a year and a half ago.

Hoffman began preparing 4 months ago for his journey. He said, “Hopefully, I’ll lose a few pounds – that’s my main goal, and also to inspire other people to at least get on a bike to attempt to live a little healthier life.”

Pete Moody is cycling with Hoffman Friday as a support rider. “I’m just very proud of Eric.  This is a huge accomplishment, and I’m just here to support him,” said Moody.

Hoffman plans to spend the night at Lake of the Woods, and hopes to arrive in Medford late Saturday night.
