High speed chase leads to crash

Hugo, Ore.- A high speed chase involving law enforcement led to a crash in Hugo Wednesday night, trapping the driver underneath.

The crash was reported just before 10 p.m. According to Rural Metro Fire District, the driver’s car flipped into a ditch in the 3400 block of Hugo Rd., partially ejecting him and pinning his head underneath. When firefighters arrived, they stabilized the vehicle, crawled in through the passenger side window, then cut part of the car to release the drivers head.

The driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The incident is still under investigation. Further details are expected to be released at a later time.
