‘Smash and grab’ robbery at Klamath Falls jewelry store

Klamath Falls, Ore. – Main Street Jewelers in Klamath Falls was the target of a ‘smash and grab’ robbery Thursday.

Workers say a hooded suspect entered the store shortly after 1:00 p.m., and broke into a display case near the entrance.

“He just put his fingers through all of the rings, and just pulled as hard as he could,” said Main Street Jewelers employee Cindy Smith.  “And it just came crashing down.  It was frightening – and out the door he went.  It was a matter of seconds.”

Police arrested suspect Eric Lee Kirk, he’s charged with violation of parole and possession of meth.

All nine rings were recovered.
