California pride parade suspect faces new charges

NC_pridethreatguy0616_1500x845Los Angeles, Calif. (WAVE) — An man arrested on weapons charges in California over the weekend has now been charged in a child molestation case in Indiana.

Clark County Prosecutor Jeremy Mull said Wednesday that James Wesley Howell had sex with a 12-year-old girl at the Clark State Forest in Henryville, Indiana on May 31.

“It’s just sad that a 12-year-old girl feels like she’s fallen in love with (Howell) and he’s taking her out and acting like they are lovers, talking about getting married in five years,” Mull said.

Mull said he believes Howell took off for California because of the molestation investigation.

Howell was arrested in Santa Monica Sunday morning, just hours before the Los Angeles Pride Parade, after officers said they found weapons and chemicals in his car.
