Phoenix, Ore. — A loose cow on I-5 near Phoenix caused traffic delays and congestion Tuesday morning.
Around 8:30, the Oregon Department of Transportation closed the Exit 27 off ramp after Interstate 5 northbound lanes were blocked by a wayward calf.
Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputies, Phoenix Police and Oregon State Police were also on hand to direct traffic and aid in the capture of the cow.
Exit 27 was only shut down for about 30 minute, quickly allowing traffic to flow normally again in both directions.
