Email ‘bombshell’ may fizzle out

nc_campaign161031_1500x845(NBC News) — Democrats are demanding FBI Director James Comey provide details on whether newly-discovered emails are actually new, contain classified information or whether they’re duplicates for which Hillary Clinton has already been cleared after Comey announced their discovery last week.

“Why in the world would the FBI decide to jump into an election with no evidence of any wrong doing with just days to go?” Clinton asked while campaigning Monday in Ohio.

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid suggests Comey may have violated the “Hatch Act” by revealing vague new information just days before an election, and many Republicans are criticizing Comey’s actions as well.

Meanwhile, the latest NBC News/Survey Monkey poll finds Donald Trump has not been helped and Clinton not hurt by the email surprise, with Clinton keeping the six point lead she had before the FBI the discovery of the emails.
