Medford is up by more than 1,000 votes against Portland and Bend to win an all-ability playground at Fichtner Mainwaring Park. For every assist made this season, Moda and the Trail Blazers have donated $5 to the contest.
Local kids say a new playground will bring more people to the park.
“I’m just really excited,” 4th grader Andrew tells NBC5 News, “this park has been for a long time, and I think it would be really cool to have a new one!”
Andrew says he’d like to see a new slide and basketball court in the park if Medford wins.
