Fire rips through RV and neighboring bus

Central Point, Ore. — Fire District 3 along with Central Point Police and Jackson County Sherriff’s arrived at the scene on the 5000 block of Upton Road in Central Point.

There was one occupant inside the family RV when the fire broke out but he managed to get out safely and uninjured.

Mike Calhoun, District 3 Battalion Chief says, “There was an individual inside the one that had started and he stepped out to go check on something and when he came back he found the place on fire.”

The fire did spread to a neighboring bus, causing damage and an additional bus in the area just filled with smoke.

The cause of the fire is still undetermined as investigators visit the scene. Officials say it is not related to a Christmas tree fire.
