Good Samaritans form human chain after crash in Florida

Palm Bay, Fla. (WESH) — Nearly a dozen people formed a human chain to help rescue a man trapped inside a burning SUV after a crash Sunday in Palm Bay, Florida.

A two-vehicle accident sent one car careening down an embankment.

People pulled over to free the trapped driver, but he wouldn’t cooperate and fought back.

Police say a head injury made him incoherent.

“Everyone just kind of jumped in just to save this person. So it was really impressive to watch, to be a part of.  You know it was a miracle and a blessing just to see the kindness and the courage involved in that, the bravery,” said witness Shannon Perez.

With the vehicle still burning, the injured man was pulled out and the bystanders linked arms to help him and the rescuers up the embankment.

“All of us were kind of just trying to help out trying to find tools to break windows screaming across street for fire extinguishers, and just kind of anything we could do to get this person out of the car,” Perez added.
