Holiday travel tips

11-21-16-holiday-travelMedford, Ore. — The Thanksgiving holiday is just days away, and if you’re planning on flying, there’s a few things you need to know.

Airport management said you should arrive at the airport an hour and a half before your flight. Two hours before if you plan on checking a bag. And be sure you’re prepared for anything, especially long wait times.

Another tip to avoid running to the terminal, make sure you don’t have any items in your carry on bags that t-s-a does not allow. A new addition to that list – mashed potatoes. TSA said ingredients can actually set off security sensors.

“If you’re traveling very far, take a nice book or a magazine with you. because if you’re at another airport waiting a while, it’s nice to have something to do,” Bern Case said, Director of the Rogue Valley-Medford International Airport

The day before Thanksgiving is one of the airport’s busiest days.
