Klamath Falls man accused of attempted stabbing

0504 GarriotKlamath Falls, Ore. — A Klamath Falls man is in jail, accused of attempting to stab a stranger.

Charges against 34-year-old William Love Garriott include attempted assault, menacing, and unlawful use of a weapon.

The victim told police that he thought Garriott was trying to flag him down at a south Sixth Street business Tuesday afternoon.

When he pulled over, Garriott struck his partially opened window with a knife, then slashed his tire.

Garriott told officers he was acting in self-defense.
