Medford, Ore.- Dash cam video released to KOBI-TV NBC5 reveals a Medford Police Department officer was using his lights and sirens on the night he was involved in a crash in downtown Medford.
The crash happened at the intersection of 8th and Central as Officer Andrew Gault was rushing to a call. Officer Gault’s cruiser and another car collided, then the cruiser hit a tree.
The dash cam video shows the officer did not appear to slow down as he was approaching the intersection, revealing that’s the reason he was later cited and fined $260.
Oregon State Police say officers must use caution when going through intersections.
No one was seriously injured in the crash.
