Landslide prompts evacuations in Grants Pass

Grants Pass, Ore. – A landslide damaged one home and evacuated a neighborhood in Grants Pass Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety, the slide occurred just after 2:00 p.m.

One house was damaged and power lines are currently down in the area of Fruitdale Drive and Poplar Drive. Police said the stability of the hillside is unknown, so they’re evacuating nearby residents.

Police are on scene assessing the hazard, and the public is advised to stay out of the area.
