We have an update to a “Top Story” NBC-5 News has been following all week.

After no agreement was made late Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, the Eagle Point School District won’t resume teacher contract negotiations until Monday, May 7th.

The district says they have made a new offer.

It would allow teachers to maintain their preparation time. The new offer would also provide two separate costs of living pay increases, of point 5 percent in the next two years.

The union did reject the new offer.

Now if an agreement is not reached, teachers plan to strike on Tuesday, May 8th.

That, by the way is only one day after negotiation talks resume.
