Boise Cascade Re-hires Laid Off Workers

R.J. Roberts, the regional HR Manager for Boise Cascade said the company is bringing back nine workers who were previously laid off. But those aren’t the only people getting back to work.

In addition to bringing back laid off employees, Boise Cascade is also hiring 40 new workers.

According to Roberts, the reason behind the hiring is related to the company’s recent market expansion.

“Housing starts aren’t up but we are catching some marketshare with some new customers in Canada and the United States […] So it’s all hands on deck,” said Roberts.

Roberts says the nine previously laid off employees are already back to work.

As for the 40 open positions, he says the company received about 700 applications.

Right now about 150 people are currently interviewing — trying to snag one of the 40 new employee openings.
