‘Brother In Laws’ filming shifts to Klamath Falls

Klamath Falls, Ore. – Klamath Falls will serve as a movie set for the filming of ‘Brother in Laws’ later this week…and the filming could impact local commuters.

Most of the shooting on ‘Brother in Laws’ has taken place at a cabin on the west side of Lake of the Woods, while nearby Great Meadows has served as a temporary base for crew members.

“I think it’s definitely caused a little boost to the local economy.” Notes George Gregory of the Lake of the Woods Resort. “Maybe people are up here hoping to see a celebrity, and who knows – maybe even get in the movie.”

The focus will soon shift to Klamath Falls.

Planning Manager Erik Nobel of the city of Klamath Falls says the Klamath County Courthouse will serve as a movie set all day Friday…

“They are going to close Main Street between Third St. and Fourth St. on Friday.”

Nobel adds that filming will also take place in some residential neighborhoods and downtown streets from Thursday through Sunday…

“You’re going to see some ‘no parking’ areas, just so the crews can get up there and get their production vans and everything in place.”

Line Producer Jenny Hinkey says ‘Brother in Laws’ is a comedy about two men marrying sisters…

“And they’re polar opposites. One guy is a city boy who’s very buttoned up, and isn’t comfortable out in the country. The other guy has been teaching at a youth camp for 23 years.”

Producers told the Klamath County Commissioners the movie will put about $700,000 into the local economy.

The cast of ‘Brother in Laws’ includes Bill Pullman, Rita Wilson, and ‘Saturday Night Live’ stars Taran Killam, Bobby Moyniham, and Rachael Harris.
