0328 river searchGrants Pass, Ore. — The Josephine County Sheriff’s Office said they’ve found the car that drove into the Rogue River late last month. Deputies said a fishing guide found it on Sunday, in 12 feet of water.

Marine deputies, along with Oregon State Police and the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue responded to the area, about 200 yards down river from the Lathrop boat landing.

Dive teams searched the car, but did not find a body inside. Witnesses say a man was driving the 1999 Mercury Sable when it went in, the morning of March 26th.

The car was towed out of the water Monday afternoon. Deputies also discovered the car is listed as stolen. The investigation into what happened is still ongoing.
