Community Rallies to Help 7-Year-Old with Leukemia

Residents across the Rogue Valley gathered in Ashland to help raise money for a local seven-year-old battling Leukemia.

Zenith Greenfield-Whyte was diagnosed with the disease last month at Doernbecher Childrens Hospital in Portland.

Family friends decided to pull together and host a fundraiser Sunday night with all proceeds going to the family.

“I would assume tonight, we are already at 3500 in raffle sales, so i’m hoping for five to eight-thousand dollars tonight. The goal is to raise as much money as possible to help cover costs for the next three years of his recovery,” said Sapphire Meeks, the event organizer.

The fundraiser went all night on Sunday at Alex’s Plaza Restaurant & Bar in downtown Ashland.
