Controversy Continues: S.O.U. Fires JPR Foundation Director

The controversy continues in the clash between Southern Oregon University and Jefferson Public Radio

Tonight it appears the man in the middle has been fired.

Ron Kramer told NBC5 News he received a letter of termination today from Southern Oregon University.

The university says Kramer should not be working for the university and Jefferson Public Radio Foundation, that it’s a conflict, despite the fact it’s been that way for decades. Why does it matter to you

JPR is widely listened to and its foundation raises millions of dollars.

It’s foundation money that has been used to restore the Holly Theatre and build a radio complex in downtown Medford as well.

Tonight’s news of Kramer’s possible firing is a shock in the wake of last night’s 11th hour save between the university and the JPR foundation, which appeared to secure the Holly for now. NBC5’s Laura Cavanaugh reports.
