Dozens turn out to clean up Greenway

Dozens of people celebrated Earth Day early by cleaning up the Bear Creek Greenway.

More than 60 volunteers picked up trash along more than two-and-a-half miles of the Greenway from Barnett to McAndrews.

The event was part of a statewide effort organized by “SOLVE,” a non-profit that takes action to keep Oregon clean and beautiful.

“The turnout from the local community the fact we have students and young people involved as well as established residents that’s pretty good,” said Project Coordinator Craig Tuss.

The volunteers worked from 8 A.M. through noon.

Statewide, 6,500 people participated in over 80 events.
