Oregon Unemployment Compensation Fund Renewed

Oregon’s unemployment compensation program will be extended until the end of the year.

The deal was renewed by Congress on Tuesday.

According to state employment officials, the deal affects nearly 35,000 Oregon residents, bringing over $320 million to Oregon’s economy in federal unemployment funds.

The compensation program will now expire in December of 2013.
