Rep. Greg Walden visits Klamath, Lake counties

WALDEN IMAGEKlamath Falls, Ore. – Congressman Greg Walden believes a return of commercial air service will play a key role in economic recovery in Klamath Falls.

Representative Walden met with a crowd of about 30 business and government officials at the Crater Lake / Klamath Regional Airport Thursday.

Walden helped to restore Transportation Security Administration screenings at the airport, which clears the way for a return of passenger air service in October.

“I think it’s great for the economy.”  Noted Walden.  “It will be great for the air base here as well, the 173rd – this is going to make a big difference for pilots that come in and out of here from elsewhere in the country.”

Other topics of discussion included water issues, education funding, and obstacles faced by local realtors.

Walden also got an up close look at an F-15 that had been decorated to mark the 75th anniversary of the Oregon Air National Guard, and the 20 year anniversary of the activation of the 173rd Fighter Wing.
