Some Medford residents losing jobs due to Darigold shut down

Medford, Ore. — Nearly 30 people will soon be out of a job after a Medford milk processing plant announces its shutting down next month.

This facility has processed local milk for nearly 60 years, but it’s aging and next month will be shut down.

Darigold officials tell NBC5 News that 29 employees will lose their jobs at the end of February.

This plant is simply too old to support the production of milk, as newer, larger facilities are being built.

Darigold says they’re partnering with Worksource Oregon to provide employees with job placement services, support and benefits.
