Lovejoy Hospice closes

Grants Pass, Ore., — A non-profit hospice care facility is closing its doors at the end of the month.

Lovejoy Hospice in Grants Pass has been around for the last 36 years.

After trying to make it work for the last three years, board members decided they could no longer stay afloat and would rather close gracefully.

“We’re still solvent, we still have cash in the bank, we’re still paying all of our bills, but we just have all these outside problems that have come down upon us.” said Steve Ware, President of the board.

The facility is no longer taking new patients, but will continue to care for its current patients.

Ware says if they still have patients at the end of the month, they will be transferred to another hospice care of their choosing.
