Grants Pass, Ore. — The man who’s been convicted of manslaughter after mishandling his gun and causing the death of a young girl in June of 2013 pleaded guilty to more weapon-related charges.
According to U.S. attorney’s, Jon Meyer agreed to a plea deal in court on Monday. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to falsify a firearms application and to possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
Meyer was found to be involved in a straw man operation, when a person buys guns on behalf of someone else.
Meyer is already in prison for manslaughter, after accidentally shooting and killing 5-year-old Alysa Bobbit through the floor when he used his automatic weapon as a crutch to help him up from a couch.
The additional charges are adding 5 years to his sentence.
