Medford students celebrate National Reading Day

Medford, Ore. — Wednesday was National Reading Day, as well as the birthday of an iconic author, and one local elementary school celebrated in a unique way.

Medford’s Oak Grove Elementary students and staff snuggled up in pajamas for a reading assembly Wednesday morning. They also paid tribute to one of the greatest children’s authors, Dr. Seuss.

Principle Liz Landon said this is the first year they’ve celebrated Dr. Suess’ birthday, and she hopes the new tradition will get students excited about reading.
