Murder suspects appear in Josephine Co. court

Grants Pass, Ore. — Two Josephine County residents accused of killing a Cave Junction father and husband back in July made court appearances on Tuesday, November 22nd.

According to the Josephine County District Attorney’s Office, Renee Edrington and Kyle Forester shot and killed William Anthony Roberts while he was driving.

The two are also accused of stealing his personal effects, including a cell phone, credit card and gun after his death.

After a hearing that lasted several hours, both Edrington and Forester were denied bail.

Meanwhile a protest was held outside the Josephine County Jail. Family and friends of the victim, William Roberts, stood outside with signs in hand asking that the two defendants not receive bail.

One friend said she and the family would feel much safer knowing Edrington and Forester were behind bars and not on the street. “We want to keep violent criminals in jail. We want our streets safe for children. Josephine County is really scary at the moment there are a lot of unsolved murders, and now that we have people in jail we need to keep them in jail,” said Angela Graves.

Roberts’ wife and daughter also stood in protest.
