Obama - "We Are All Now Rooting For His Success"

(NBC News) — President Obama congratulated President-elect Donald Trump and promised to work to ensure a smooth transition of power during a statement from the White House Rose Garden.

“We are now all rooting for his success in uniting and leading the country,” President Obama said, “The peaceful transition of power is one of the hallmarks of our democracy, and over the next few months we are going to show that to the world.”

The president delivered his remarks shortly after Hillary Clinton offered her concession speech.

“I could not be prouder of her. She has lived an extraordinary life of public service,” Mr. Obama said, adding “her candidacy and nomination was historic and sends a message to our daughters all across the country that they can achieve at the highest levels of politics.”
