One of two missing Curry Co. hunters found safe.

missing-higgins-hunters-picCurry County, Ore. — Curry County Sheriff John Ward said missing hunter Trevor Higgins was found Tuesday afternoon. He was reportedly hypothermic and has been transported to a local hospital. Crews are continuing the search for Trevor’s father, Shawn Higgins.

Shawn and Trevor Higgins were last heard from on Friday; the pair were going hunting near Agness.

Over the weekend, search and rescue crews from across Southern Oregon came out to help look for the father and son pair, along with dozens of volunteers from the community.

Earlier in the week, search teams found the truck the pair were driving, and an ATV, but no sign of the Higgins men until Trevor was found on Tuesday. Volunteers are asking the community for their help, and their time.

“Even if you don’t know the area, there’s a lot of search and rescue up there who can pair you up with someone who knows that area really well, they can give you a radio, they can give you a GPS,” Fisher said. “You can still do a lot of good.”

Search and Rescue teams from Curry, Jackson, Josephine, and Douglas counties are helping in the search.
