Oregon Cheese Festival brings out thousands

Central Point, Ore., — Thousands of people came out to Central Point this weekend for the 13th annual Oregon Cheese Festival.

The festival was two days this year and featured dozens of cheese makers, wine, beer and chocolate vendors – as well as many others.

One of the special guests was “The Cheese Lady”.

Sarah Kaufmann makes sculptures out of cheese.

“I am doing what I love, my work and my play are overlapping each other. I love to make images out of the cheese, it has a great story. I talk to people and tell them my story.”

Along with all the samples, the festival offers classes and a four course dinner.

The event is put on by the Oregon Cheese Guild at the Rogue Creamery.
