Parts of the Phoenix interchange will soon open to traffic

0209 I5 ConstructionPhoenix, Ore. – The Oregon Department of Transportation says that parts of new Phoenix interchange will soon be open to traffic. The permanent new I-5 northbound exit 24 on-ramp will open to traffic Wednesday night.

The partial opening of the Fern Valley Interchange will allow traffic to cross the new bridge, and the exit ramps, to and from Medford.

Starting Wednesday night and lasting through Friday, I-5 northbound traffic will be restricted to a single lane. This is to allow for construction of the new on-ramp connection to I-5.

On Friday, the temporary northbound off-ramp is expected to open for traffic using Pear Tree Lane and South Phoenix Road.

ODOT is asking the public to be mindful of the traffic control changes during the transition.
