Phoenix High put on precautionary lock-down

1110-phoenix-high-schoolPhoenix, Ore. – On Thursday morning around 9:42, the Phoenix Police Department was dispatched to Ray’s Food Place after they received a report that someone who had been waving a rifle in the parking lot had just entered the store.

Phoenix Police said Phoenix High School, which is roughly three blocks from the school, was put on a precautionary lock-down.

PPD said officers searched the area, but could not locate any subjects. Store employees said they didn’t see anyone with a gun in or around the store.

The school was taken off lock-down at around 10:00 a.m. Students and faculty continued the day as normal.

Chief Derek Bowker wrote in a press release, “The Phoenix Police Department is unsure if the person who made the original call to dispatch actually saw someone with a gun or saw something they believed was a gun, as there was no contact information on the caller.”
