San Francisco, Calif. — The popular mobile app “Pokémon Go” does a lot more than track your location. Users who access the game using their Google credentials are apparently handing over the ability to see and modify nearly everything in their Google Account.
Engadget reports nothing in the signup process indicates users are giving the app full access to their account.
Full access gives app developers the ability to see emails, Google Drive documents, private Google photos, etc.
Users who use “Training Club” accounts won’t have the same problems.
Pokémon Go’s full access can be revoked following this link and clicking “Remove”.
