Police: Florida shoplifter trashes convenience store


Jacksonville, Fla. – Deputies are attempting to identify a suspect who trashed a Florida convenience store for roughly 10 minutes after she was caught trying to shoplift several candy bars.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the woman entered a Shell gas station convenience store and put $11 worth of candy bars in her pockets. When confronted by employees, she refused to return the candy bars and tried to leave.

Deputies said after an employee locked the front door, the suspect began damaging goods. Surveillance video shows the woman taking items from shelves and throwing them on the floor.

The employee eventually unlocked the door and the woman fled on foot. The suspect has not yet been identified.
