Rare obsidian artifacts found in Willamette Valley

Willamette Valley, Ore. — Obsidian pieces found by a Willamette Valley man turn out to be ancient Native American artifacts.

The man found the obsidian artifacts on his property and handed the pieces over to state archeologists who say they’re up to 4,000 years old.

It turns out the man’s property is a rare archaeological site.

The obsidian pieces were once traded and used to make tools.
