Police seeking alleged child abuser

0613 Roy Alan GibbsJackson County, Ore. – Ashland Police are urging the public to be on the lookout for a man who allegedly sexually abused a child in Northern California.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office said on June 7th, a 9-year-old girl disclosed that she was repeatedly sexually abused over several years by Roy Alan Gibbs.

According to deputies, a warrant for Gibbs’ arrest was signed by a Humboldt County Superior Court Judge. The list of charges on the warrant include continuous abuse of a child, eight counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 using force or fear, providing pornography to a minor, aggravated sexual assault of a minor, and terrorist threats.

The Ashland Police Department say Gibbs may be somewhere in the Rogue Valley.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office said Gibbs may be armed. If you have any information about the current whereabouts of Gibbs, call police immediately.
