Dallas, Ore. — One of Oregon’s last remaining drive-in movie theaters may be closing for good.
The owners of Dallas, Oregon’s Motor Vu Drive In say the land it leases is up for sale. Buying it would cost more than a million dollars, more than the owners can afford.
The owners say they don’t see a way to keep things going, but will update customers using the theater’s Facebook page.
October 22nd and 23rd is the theater’s final weekend for the 2016 season. “Also, it’s possible that this is the last weekend for always,” said the owners.
The theater has been in operation since 1953.
