Public hearings scheduled ahead of possible Douglas Co. library closures

Douglas County, Ore. — If you hope there’s still a chance for public libraries in Douglas County, Commissioners want to hear from you.

The county is required to hold public hearings prior to abolishing or withdrawing support from public libraries.

A hearing discussing funding, operation and long-term solutions will be held April 5.

10 county libraries are scheduled to close April first, and the Roseburg branch would close at the end of May.

If you can’t make the meeting you can submit comments by emailing [email protected] AND [email protected].

You can also send a letter addressed to DC Commissioners, Courthouse – Room 217, 1036 S.E. Douglas Av, Roseburg, Or. 97470.
