Former S. Medford H.S. teacher charged with sex abuse pleas not guilty

0624 Fay courtMedford, Ore.  — The former South Medford High School teacher accused of having inappropriate relationships with two 17-year-old students made an appearance in court this morning and only NBC5 News was there.

38-year-old Richard Michael Fay pleaded not guilty to 16 charges, including using a child in display of sexually explicit conduct, encouraging child sex abuse in the second degree, and sexual abuse in the third degree.

Earlier this month, NBC5 News obtained court documents that show Fay has been sexting with an underage student for more than a year.

Just days later, we learned fay was also accused of having an inappropriate relationship with another student.

Fay and the teen allegedly touched each-others genitals.

The Jackson County District Attorney’s Office requested Fay’s pre-trial date be pushed back to August 29th, saying they needed time to read through the thousands of pages of evidence.
