South Medford coach placed on leave

MEDFORD, Ore. — A South Medford High School baseball coach is on leave.

An incident during Tuesday’s game caused South Medford Head Coach Ray Smith to be ejected.

Various sources say that Smith admitted to drinking before the match-up.

The school district says they are investigating the incident but are unable to comment on a personnel matter.

Smith has been placed on paid administrative leave, pending the outcome of that investigation.
