Spring break brings more guests to Ashland hotel

Ashland, Ore. — Bard’s Inn which has been around since the 60s is one of many hotels in Ashland.

General Manager Holly Harding says she always sees an increase of business during spring break.

Based on sales so far, Harding thinks this year will be even more successful.

She says spring break sets the stage for summer with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival bringing in a lot of tourists.

Harding says she loves the hotel’s proximity to the theatres as more and more people visit Ashland.

“Oh, it brings our city alive and it’s just a good vibe and everybody has a lot of fun and we get to show off Southern Oregon,” Harding said.

According to Harding, most of the guests that stay at Bard’s Inn are from Washington and California.

She thinks the recent uptick in guests last week was from Californians already on spring break.

Harding says if trends from previous years continue, Bard’s Inn expects to see a gradual increase of people until summer hits.
