Utility rate study in Grants Pass

Grants Pass, Ore., — Jackson and Josephine counties are taking business growth into their own hands.

With the help of Southern Oregon Regional Economic Development – or Soredi – Grants Pass City Council is able to monitor how the area is developing.

Now the council is working with Soredi on a “utility rate study”.

“Given the circumstances in Josephine County with the lack of really good industrial land, yeah we’re doing good. We’re doing pretty good. But we can always do better.” said City Councilor, Roy Lindsay.

The study is looking at possible storm water structures, sewage and water rates – but as of right now it is unknown if any sort of tax increase is needed.
