Washington bank robber shoots good samaritan

NC_goodsamshot0503_700x394(KHQ) Police in Spokane, Washington are searching for a bank robber who shot a good samaritan during a scuffle Monday afternoon.

Bank customer Luke McDonald said he felt compelled to act.

“I was sizing him up. He told us all to get down on our knees and I just thought, ‘how dare he? How dare he take away our power like that.’ There was a mom and her one-year-old little girl, and I was just angry,” McDonald recalled.

At a certain point, McDonald says he tried to reach for his cellphone to dial 911. He says, “the guy, the robber, he looked at me and said ‘don’t do it big guy.’ And then he started to leave. And if I would have thought about it, maybe there would have been a different outcome. But I didn’t think. I got up and slammed into him. I slammed his head into the wall and put his arm around him. He was thick, probably 270 pounds, so it was hard to get my arm around him. As he spun his mask came off and I saw him take something out of his pocket and he was like, ‘Why?’ and then he pointed the gun up into my arm and shot. Then he spun around and he shot me in my leg and I was like ‘Okay, okay,’ and he ran off.”
